At TecAlliance, sustainability isn’t just a concept—it’s a commitment we uphold every day. As we step forward as a responsible global player, we align our actions with the stringent demands of our partners and customers for transparency and sustainability in their supply chains.
Our activities become clear in achieving the silver medal in EcoVadis sustainability rating for the third time in a row in the past three years. This award puts us in the top 25 of the more than 100,000 companies evaluated worldwide. In 2023, we were once again able to improve compared to the previous year. The external evaluation underpins the credibility of our commitment to sustainability and confirms us as a reliable and responsible partner in the global automotive aftermarket.
EcoVadis is the world’s largest provider of sustainability ratings for companies. The high rating from the external, internationally recognised rating specialist proves the success of the numerous measures that we have implemented. These include the introduction of a Global Code of Conduct that sets uniform standards for the behaviour of our employees and business partners worldwide. In addition, we have implemented a whistleblowing system to report and uncover potential violations of the Code of Conduct.
On 1 January 2023, we have adopted our Code of Conduct that applies to all locations and subsidiaries worldwide. With this set of rules, we are setting an example for transparency, quality and sustainability. The publication of the Code of Conduct, was the next logical and sensible step for us towards becoming a sustainable company.
The Code of Conduct provides our team with a clear set of rules on the essential topics of social interaction in everyday work, occupational safety and environmental protection, and data protection. It also covers dealing with gifts and invitations, avoiding corruption and bribery, non-discrimination, and responding to indications of unethical behaviour.
The guidelines give orientation and security in our daily business life in an increasingly complex and challenging working environment. They show how we deal with possible questions that may arise or difficult situations concerning business practices or dealings with colleagues, shareholders and business partners.
The code is based on our company values that have been defined in order to make us a driving force in the digitisation of the entire automotive aftermarket, i.e. One Team, Customer Centricity, Entrepreneurial Thinking, Innovation and Result Driven.
Another important tool for us to improve sustainability is the assessment of sustainability risks from our suppliers. Furthermore, we have implemented comprehensive measures to save CO2 and have set ourselves the goal of being CO2-neutral by 2030. E-learning courses and workshops for our teams have been introduced to raise awareness of sustainability and CSR.
To achieve our goal of being completely CO2-neutral by 2030, we incorporate renewable energy and environmentally friendly technologies into our operations, such as the electrification of our car parc, implementation of solar panels, and the utilisation of eco-friendly energy from renewable sources. Furthermore, we adopt sustainable practices like a job bike option, freely available e-charging points at the site or a company car scheme that promotes e-mobility. Our flexible home office arrangement alone is expected to save 209 tons of climate-damaging CO2 per year. Our initiatives align with our long-standing commitment to reducing our carbon footprint and ensuring environmental stewardship.
In 2023, we were honoured to host Dr. Sebastian Schäfer, Member of the German Bundestag, of Bündnis 90/Die Grünen, at our Weikersheim office in Germany. This visit was part of Dr. Schäfer’s tour of the Main-Tauber region, which aimed to promote an interchange on sustainable business practices and to address the potential barriers that businesses may be facing. This visit served as an excellent example of how companies and government officials can work together to create a more sustainable future. By fostering dialogues, encouraging sustainable business practices, and implementing supportive policies, we can collectively strive towards a more sustainable world.
