For Jesper Rasmussen, managing digital infrastructure in the automotive aftermarket isn’t just a job — it’s a long-standing mission. Starting on the warehouse floor, Jesper’s career evolved from logistics to IT, leading him to play a key role in digital system integration. He has witnessed the evolution of digital spare parts logistics firsthand, from the early days of IT tools to his involvement in building one of Denmark’s first TecDoc-based catalogues.

When Jesper joined in 2017, CAC used an older TecCom setup with no online requests or express orders, just basic document handling and mostly manual processes. “We had stock order transfers and limited reverse messaging. It wasn’t ideal,” he recalls.
Today, TecCom Order is fully embedded into CAC’s ERP. This enables both automated and manual order handling, real-time availability checks, and express processing through direct integration into the TecCom Portal.
“Having TecCom Order in our ERP provides us flexibility, reliability, and real-time visibility for high-volume ordering and streamlined supplier coordination,” Jesper says.
Managing Complexity with One System
One of the key challenges CAC faced was managing dozens of vendor integrations — each with different formats, protocols, and requirements. This led to time-consuming individual setups and file transfers that slowed down operations. Jesper Rasmussen set out to eliminate this complexity by introducing a centralized solution.
“Having one system for communication with more than 95 TecCom suppliers is unique. It saves us from building and maintaining countless custom connections. What’s even better is that the structure is flexible enough to bring non-TecCom vendors into the same streamlined workflow,” Jesper explains.
Suppliers not yet using TecCom can still be integrated through data conversion, using formats like CSV that are adapted into TecCom-compatible structures. This allows CAC to apply the same efficient processes across its entire supplier base.
TecCom’s structure enables CAC to automate tasks, reduce manual uploads, and keep internal systems continuously updated with order confirmations, dispatch advice, and eInvoices.
Improving Logistics with Better Data
Many key TecCom Order features are proving essential in CAC’s day-to-day logistics. Being able to rely on an accurate dispatch advice has been a game-changer. When suppliers provide this information correctly, the receiving and unpacking process becomes significantly faster and more accurate. Packages no longer have to be opened to know what is inside. Today, with accurate dispatch data, goods can be stored without even cutting the tape.
The ability to automate processes is crucial for buyer organizations like CAC. But the prerequisite for doing this successfully is high-quality, accurate, and complete data from vendors. Jesper sees this as a real differentiator.

Another promising tool is Open Order. It allows CAC to track open purchase orders and identify mismatches early. Although only a few suppliers currently support this feature, Jesper sees it as a critical step toward proactive supply chain management.
Advancing Automotive IT with Master Data and Stock Insights
CAC also leverages TecCom Managed Data, TecCom’s master data solution, to keep article data updated and integrate stock availability into its B2B platform. It’s another step toward real-time information sharing with partners and clients. While helping to align master data efficiently, it supports transparency and enhances the client-facing experience.
But Jesper’s vision doesn’t stop there. He also focuses on vendor enablement — ensuring that partners understand how to structure data properly and fully utilize TecCom’s capabilities.
“The tools to take spare part trading to the next level are there, but we need more suppliers to fully adopt them. It makes a big difference to efficiency on both sides.”
