Aftermarket Symposium: Key Insights for Indonesia 

On February 13, 2025, TecAlliance, GiPA, and Eucon successfully hosted the Aftermarket Symposium 2025 in Jakarta. The event brought together over 160 industry leaders to discuss market trends, challenges, and opportunities in Indonesia’s automotive aftermarket. 

With a strong focus on digital transformation, pricing strategies, and e-commerce growth, the symposium gathered key players from both parts manufacturing and distribution, including Alfa Omega, Astra Otoparts, Bosch, B-Quik Indonesia, Brembo, Denso, Gates, Phinia, Schaeffler, MANN+HUMMEL, Niterra, SKF, Sumber Berkat, Valeo, ZF, and YonMing.

Industry Insights and Key Presentations

Vice President Fabrizio Giannelli inaugurated the event by sharing TecAlliance’s strategy for the Asia-Pacific region.

Gwenael de Calan presented key findings from a car drivers’ survey conducted in Q3 2024 in partnership with market research expert GiPA. This survey, based on 1,200 driver interviews across Indonesia, provided a detailed analysis of the dynamics within the Indonesian aftermarket, explaining some of the current challenges the sector is facing. 

Product Management & E-Commerce Innovations 

Björn Weiß from Eucon introduced the various tools and methodologies that Eucon offers to aftermarket players aiming to optimize their price management for automotive spare parts.  

Jan Tirtawidjaja delivered the final presentation, highlighting the databases and solutions TecAlliance offers for automotive spare parts product management. His presentation focused on the new Vehicles in Operation (VIO) database for Indonesia at the city level, Product Management Analytics (PMA) reports, and the newly launched Trade Portal eCommerce solution.

Following his presentation, Jan moderated a panel discussion titled “Where is the Indonesian aftermarket going?”

The panelists included:

  • Benny Liem, Head of ZF Aftermarket Indonesia  
  • Calvin Kau, Manager of YonMing Indonesia, one of the largest truck & bus parts distributors in ASEAN  
  • Edmond Tanuwidjaja, Manager of Auto Service, one of the largest IAM workshops in the Jakarta area  
  • Christian Chandra, Sales Manager at Giri Mas, one of Indonesia’s largest automotive spare parts distributors  

The Aftermarket Symposium 2025 brought together industry leaders to discuss the state of the Indonesian aftermarket, forecasts for 2025-2026, and business opportunities in the IAM sector.
