With Instant Data Processing (IDP) we enable data suppliers to update and transfer their catalog data in real time. All data transferred via IDP will be integrated and published instantly in the TecDoc Catalogue, Web Service and Web Shop.
This page provides regular updates and technical information on IDP – including system changes, release schedules, and API improvements.
Topics covered in Q2 2025:
– The TecDoc Ecosystem
– Regular System improvements and updates
– Central Validations
– Reference Data updates – today and tomorrow
– For users of the IDP Data Supplier API
The way data is delivered into the TecDoc Catalogue has fundamentally changed. What used to require specific TecAlliance tools like DMM R2 is now flexible, real-time and API-driven.
You can now transfer data:
💡 The TecDoc IDP Data Supplier API allows you to connect your system directly to TecDoc – no matter the software you use.

A fundamental design principle of the entire TecDoc Ecosystem is the integration of the “classic” data supply chain that is based on weekly updates of complete data packages of brands with the new IDP based channel where single objects like articles, linkages and assets are updated as soon as an update is provided by the Data Supplier.
Even though each Data Supplier needs to decide for one channel, the data is always distributed instantly and as a complete Data Package once a week.
The IDP backend is continuously evolving. To ensure a reliable and high-performance system, we roll out updates every two weeks as part of our regular release cycle.
📅 A dedicated release calendar provides visibility into:

During scheduled downtimes, the IDP API will return a standard response indicating that the system is temporarily unavailable. TecDoc ONE and TecDoc DataWave are already configured to handle this gracefully – by displaying the message and automatically pausing sync processes.
We recommend that your own implementation handles these messages accordingly, to avoid failed transmissions and ensure no data is lost.

No matter from where the data is delivered, the central validation of the IDP core system guarantees a well-defined and documented level of data quality
Any system that sends data is free to make own validations upfront to minimize traffic and costs but in the end each user can be sure that the TecDoc standard ad its policies are fulfilled.
A list off validations is part of the documentation.
Users of the IDP Data Supplier API or TecDoc DataWave
You already should have access to the documentation. Please check it out for the list of validations – if you haven’t done it yet.
Users of TecDoc ONE
You should already receive useful information as part of the data publishing process in TecDoc ONE. Anyway – if you want to know more about IDP at all just ask your TecAlliance contact for access credentials to the IDP documentation
Please note that the IDP data Supplier API is updated on a regular basis – once a fortnight in general.
The Release Notes are part of the documentation you already have access to. Please read the Release Notes carefully to be informed about recent and upcoming changes.
With the deployment of 24-April-2025 we removed the endpoint articles/get from the API. This has been announced for more than six month as the endpoint is not working properly for bigger article numbers.
For any synchronisation topics you might use four new endpoints that have recently been added to the IDP Data Receiver API
