We take catalogue data quality to a higher level together with our industry partners

We are continuously running a data quality initiative to optimise data quality in the TecDoc Catalogue. With a new, more demanding set of rules with additional validations and key performance indicators (KPIs) we support the parts manufacturers in improving their product data. Since June 2021, each brand that fulfils these higher content-related requirements has been certified as a Premier Data Supplier (PDS). As of the latest September evaluation, 11 percent of the more than 800 supplier brands have already achieved this superior status.

Andreas Assmann, Director Data Quality Management, emphasises: “With our new KPIs, we support our industry partners in raising the quality of their data in the TecDoc Catalogue to a new level. Our measures are aimed at enhancing the reliability of the catalogue systems in the independent automotive aftermarket, thus increasing customer satisfaction at the point of service. Only accurate and complete data enables the user to quickly identify the correct replacement part.”

“At TecDoc, we are driven to provide benchmark data to our customers. We are always working on standardisation and data optimisation. The new Premier Data Supplier status is a seal of quality for the highest level of precision and accuracy in every respect”, says Jürgen Weiland, Product Lead Data Solutions. “We greatly appreciate our TecDoc suppliers’ continuous efforts to improve their data quality and would like to thank and congratulate all Premier Data Suppliers for their outstanding performance!”

Since our founding more than 25 years ago, we have been committed to improving data quality and establishing uniform industry standards such as the TecDoc Standard. Currently, the TecDoc Catalogue database contains 9.8 million part numbers from more than 800 supplier brands and over 414 million product/vehicle applications.

The PDS supplier evaluation is carried out quarterly. We are committed to fully supporting all our data suppliers to achieve the Premier Data Supplier status to meet point-of-service (PoS) information requirements with their product data.
