GaragePlug, the automotive cloud platform that helps service businesses achieve operational efficiency and build an outstanding customer experience, has joined our partner programme (TAPP). This partnership propels GaragePlug to become an integral part of the entire Middle East’s aftermarket ecosystem, seamlessly connecting auto service workshops, parts distributors, and vehicle owners. By joining the partner programme, GaragePlug aligns itself with our globally recognised TecDoc platform. Since our founding almost 30 years ago, we have been committed to improving data quality and establishing uniform industry standards in the automotive aftermarket. Currently, the TecDoc Catalogue database contains 9.8 million part numbers from more than 1,000 supplier brands and over 450 million product/vehicle linkages.

As part of this partnership, GaragePlug has successfully received its training certificate as a TecDoc Data Integrator, enabling the company to offer TecDoc-based solutions in multiple countries, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Jordan, Iraq, Yemen, and Kuwait.

In an interview with Shubhra Srivastava, Co-Founder, and CEO of GaragePlug, we delved into the current challenges facing the automotive aftermarket in the Middle East with strategical insights from GaragePlug.

What are the current challenges in the automotive aftermarket in the Middle East?

Shubhra Srivastava: The current main challenge that GaragePlug notices in the automotive aftermarket in the Middle East is that most of the industry understands the importance of Digital Transformation, but they are adopting the wrong definition of it.

The pattern we see in the industry shows that most service businesses believe simply taking all the manual workshop operations and putting them on a computer is a digital transformation.

Due to this, the aftermarket industry in the Middle East is running behind workshop softwares and other digitalisation tools that offer disjointed features rather than offering practical value.

This is leading to auto service businesses being forced to increase expenses in getting additional software operators, computer hardware, decreased operational efficiency and unable to get any ROI.

Can you tell us more about Garage Plug’s strategy in the Middle East? What sets you apart from other providers in the region?

Shubhra Srivastava: GaragePlug believes the true definition of digital transformation is achieved when the technicians of an auto service workshop themselves become the operator of digital transformation software. True digital transformation is where the technicians, service advisor and other shopfloor employees drive the digital transformation for that business.

With this in mind, GaragePlug is built with mobility, user-friendliness and real value in mind.

GaragePlug is safely Middle East’s most matured digital transformation platform that is mobile-first. GaragePlug runs seamlessly by simply reusing the smartphones of technicians and service advisors.

When the core members like the technicians drive this digital transformation via GargePlug, our BI platform then completely digitalises the head office of large enterprise service brands – delivering end-to-end true digital transformation that delivers actual value and justifies ROI.

What motivated Garage Plug to join the TecAlliance Partner Program? What value do you believe it will bring to your business in terms of growth and opportunities?

Shubhra Srivastava: We eagerly embraced the TecAlliance Partner Program due to its alignment with our vision. This partnership expands GaragePlug’s workshop management capabilities, granting unprecedented access to vital aftermarket data. By integrating TecDoc‘s comprehensive data into our platform, we empower workshops to seamlessly recommend precise parts and services, ultimately enhancing customer satisfaction and optimising workshop efficiency.

This partnership propels GaragePlug to become an integral part of the entire Middle East’s aftermarket ecosystem where we seamlessly connect auto service workshops, parts distributors, and vehicle owners.
