We invited 62 company representatives from 41 parts manufacturers, distributors and associations of the Brazilian market to participate in our workshop in São Paulo in mid-February! It was a perfect opportunity to discuss and exchange experiences, lern more about customer needs and the important building block in the standardisation and digitisation of the automotive aftermarket: the TecDoc Standard and our catalogue solution.

Our Executive Vice President New Markets, David Winter talked about the structure of TecAlliance, upcoming trends in the Brazilian market, business opportunities and our vision for the future. We continued with data and facts presented by our Managing Director Brazil/Regional Sales Director South America, Heloisa Monzani, in addition to the presentation of the new version of the TecDoc Catalogue 3.0. Our Information Manager Luiz Constancio gave an overview of essential statistics to show the efficiency of OE data reference research.

What is most important for us? Comparability and transparency of product data worldwide! Due to the TecDoc Standard, today a spare part can be identified and therefore sold, worldwide. Tomorrow, it will be the basis for the development and implementation of intelligent applications for the mobility concepts and services of the future.

Heloisa Monzani and her outstanding team work to constantly update data & solutions and adapt them to the individual characteristics for our customers. They use their wide expertise and deep knowledge of the industry to serve the Brazilian market, which is of major strategic importance to our company.

And this due to the following facts: about 45 million cars and commercial vehicles are driving all over the country. It is seen that even with the current political and economic scenario, and although the fall in the production of vehicles by the OEMs, the replacement parts sector has been showing a lower rate of decline comparing to other sectors of the automotive industry in Brazil. And much is due exclusively to the aftermarket, which has been responsible for the resilience demonstrated by the sector during the recent period of economic recession experienced by the country.

The workshop participants reinforced the need for information and transparency in the management of their companies and insist that all their suppliers follow our TecDoc standard. At the end of the event manufacturers and distributors joined a round table session, discussing why data standardisation is important for the whole market. We would like to thank all guests from Autozone, Bilstein, Bosch, BRP, Cabovel, Cauplas, Clarios, Cobra, Comolatti, Dana, Dr1v, Elring Klinger, Eurorepar, Gates, Gauss, GM, Hasting, Hella, Isapa, Jahú, Kayaba, KSPG, Magneti Marelli, Mann Hummel, Meritor, MTE-Thomsom, Nakata, NTN Rolamentos, Osram, Petrobras, Rede Âncora, RioSulense, Sampel, Schaeffler, SK Automotive, SKF, SNR-NTN, Sogefi, Takao, Tecfil and Volkswagen, who attended this event, which was a great success for us!
