On the 9th and 10th of October 2020, the conference for independent workshops took place in Würzburg. The conference was initiated by the trade media brand “kfz-betrieb” and the German Association of Motor Trades and Repairs (ZDK) to provide a forum for owners and managers of independent workshops and service companies. In addition to exciting technical presentations, the participants had the opportunity to get in touch with some exhibitors. TecAlliance GmbH was also represented at the conference and took the chance to meet customers and interested parties in a personal exchange and to inform about TecAlliance’s repair and maintenance data (TecRMI).

Due to the corona pandemic no events could take place for a long time. The conference for independent workshops was based on a hygiene concept and thus offered the participants the chance to follow exciting technical lectures and live presentations on the topic of “Prognosis Diagnosis”, to network and to obtain information about solutions on the market.

The event began with the presentation of the German Workshop Award 2020. The trade media brand “kfz-betrieb”, together with automechanika Frankfurt, awards prizes to independent workshops that stand out for their innovative service concepts and sophisticated marketing strategies. In addition to the winner in first place – Autohaus Niedermayer from Neukirchen – another nine garages received awards. TecAlliance GmbH takes this opportunity to congratulate all winners of the German Workshop Award 2020.

The following day was opened by Wolfgang Michel, editor-in-chief of the trade media brand “kfz-betrieb”. Under this year’s topic “Prognose Diagnose”, practical specialist lectures in the field of vehicle diagnostics were held. A panel discussion on this topic also highlighted various perspectives and opinions on this subject area. Further specialist presentations in the afternoon in the areas of customer support and digital service booklet rounded off the program of the event. The conference thus represented a meeting place for operators and employees of automotive workshops, who were able to find out about solutions on the market and exchange information with companies in the independent automotive spare parts and repair market. In this respect, Christian Bergmann, Vice President Data Manager RMI, and Sebastian Ley, Sales Manager, also had the opportunity to draw the attention of interested parties to TecAlliance’s solutions in the area of repair and maintenance data. Sebastian Ley was very satisfied with the event and considers the event an ideal opportunity to establish customer contact: “The conference for independent workshops and service companies was an ideal opportunity for us as TecAlliance to enter into dialogue with automotive companies and other market participants. We received valuable feedback on our solutions and learned directly about the challenges that independent garages face on a daily basis. The insights we gain help us to make the right decisions and adapt our range of solutions to customer needs.

According to Christian Bergmann, the active exchange of information also resulted in positive feedback from customers on repair and maintenance data: “We were pleased to receive positive feedback on the TecRMI data quality, which was confirmed by those who are already actively using our data today via a wide variety of systems”.

All in all, we can look back on a successful event. The personal customer contact showed positive feedback and thus illustrates the quality of the TecAlliance’s repair and maintenance data.
