Cologne, Germany. September 2018 One of the most important innovations that TecAlliance is presenting at Automechanika 2018 is the new TecDoc Catalogue: Version 3.0 is designed to be more user-friendly and intuitive than ever before, enabling faster and more precise searches. Another new feature is the optional OE Parts Data module; although TecDoc Catalogue searches are based on IAM data, the user can now filter spare parts searches by OE (original equipment) number for greater scope and precision. TecAlliance is the first IAM database supplier to link data from OEM spare parts to matching aftermarket spare parts, setting a new standard for speed, accuracy and quality of spare parts identification.

Repair and maintenance information to be component-based

The improved integration of Repair and Maintenance Information allows users to access a wide variety of manufacturer-compliant information directly from the spare parts search. The system is component-driven and even more clearly organised.

The better the database, the more the stars

To increase the quality of the database even further, TecAlliance has introduced a three-star system as part of the OE Parts Data module. Parts manufacturers are encouraged to supply all information in the OE-based detail and quality when entering their spare parts in the catalogue. They are rewarded with one star each for certain categories. Those who obtain the maximum of three stars are ranked higher in the TecDoc Catalogue and online, which increases sales opportunities for their partners.

Advantages for workshops and part traders

The scope, quality and up-to-date status of the data and information in the TecDoc Catalogue enables independent workshops to offer vehicle maintenance in line with the manufacturer’s specifications, maintaining the manufacturer’s warranty. The TecDoc Catalogue now enables workshops to calculate the costs to their customers more precisely. Workshops can also make all organisational preparations and place all necessary orders before the vehicles arrive in the workshop.

Workshops are not the only players to benefit from the new TecDoc Catalogue. In order to help traders to set up their own web shops quickly and easily, TecAlliance has used the TecDoc Catalogue to create a customised solution featuring web shop functionality and fully integrating OE and RMI data. As an alternative, a trader can integrate the TecDoc Catalogue’s range of data into his own shop or catalogue system as a web service.

For 20 years, the TecDoc Catalogue has been one of the world’s leading spare parts catalogues, including more than 110,000 vehicle types, data for 6.6 million articles from more than 700 brands, 254 million links and 48 article groups. For all involved, the TecDoc Standard represents a reliable seal of quality for high-grade OEM-based spare parts information and data.
