Cologne, Germany. September 2018 – Whether it’s for identifying vehicles, procuring repair and maintenance information or conducting a targeted spare parts search: access to premium data is vital to stakeholders in the independent automotive aftermarket. The TecDoc Catalogue, the global vehicle and spare parts catalogue, now includes 500+ data suppliers. In order to make their data maintenance even easier, TecAlliance is presenting a new solution package at Automechanika 2018: Data Manager.

The solution for product and data managers at data suppliers includes three modules:

  • the DMM is part of the data supplier contract; it is the basic tool for data maintenance, verification and submission.
  • The PMD is a data management tool that permits the implementation of company-specific functionality, connection of third-party systems, and linking beyond the TecDoc database with the TecDoc Plus function.
  • The third module has been designed for clients with the most stringent requirements: the CCU is the high-performance PIM tool for global spare parts data management, particularly for maintaining catalogue data based on TecAlliance OE data.

Improve quality, scope and accuracy of spare parts product information in a targeted manner using the CCU.

Parts manufacturers’ data managers can use the CCU to enter article information simply and conveniently, maintain it and link it to the appropriate vehicle data. This also means that gaps in the data can be identified and closed. This makes it possible to improve the quality, scope and accuracy of spare parts product information in a simple, targeted manner before delivering it to the global market via the TecDoc Catalogue. In addition to the option of capturing article information in the international TecDoc standard, it is now possible to map it to other formats. These include MAM for the British market and ACES and PIES for the US market.  Moreover, all data relevant for product management is directly integrated into the CCU solution, including the world’s largest database of vehicles in operation (VIO) as well as information from vehicle manufacturers (OE). Among other uses, the reporting function allows the customers to analyse their own catalogue offering or to determine specific areas with sales potential at the parts level by looking at market coverage. For markets in which paper catalogues are still used, a suitable data format can be produced.
