The first meeting for data suppliers in China since the founding of TecAlliance Asia Ltd. was a complete success. 38 company representatives from the most important part manufacturers in the Chinese market participated in the workshop on 7th of May 2014. They learned about the TecDoc data structures, data maintenance and vehicle data management and exchanged their views.

Participants were very happy with the event and praised the progress of TecAlliance Asia in the areas of reference data management and the modification of structures and vehicle data to meet the requirements of the Chinese market.

Already for many years products and solutions from TecDoc and TecCom have been sold in China. Since 1st of January 2014 TecAlliance Asia Ltd. has operated as an independent company in Shanghai in order to further expand the business in the East Asian market, in particular in China, Korea, Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The first focus is on China, where the electronic parts catalogue will be established as the leading system for the independent automotive replacement part market. The TecCom solutions will also be modified and further developed to better meet Chinese market requirements.

Due to its growing business TecAlliance Asia moved into new offices in Shanghai in April, where 200 square metres provide room for up to 15 employees. Two new employees for vehicle data management and a sales & marketing assistant have been hired recently.

Yuliang Cao, responsible for the East Asian market in the Department Business Development, sees the business trend as very positive. “Our electronic parts catalogue already contains more than 50 brands from over 30 part manufacturers in China. There are always more coming. Since mid-2013 we have been working hard to gather local vehicle data. We are happy that we can meet the expectations of the part manufacturers and convince them of the quality of our service offerings.”

The next meeting of data suppliers in the Asian region will be held at the beginning of 2015.
