For more than twenty years, the TecDoc Catalogue has been one of the world’s leading vehicle and spare parts catalogues. By preparing the spare parts information in accordance with our internationally recognised TecDoc Standard, we make the data available to you with the highest quality and in a uniform format. To ensure that workshops, parts traders and manufacturers will be able to rely on it in the future to benefit from the digitisation and automation of the automotive aftermarket, we continuously develop the standard. We are currently introducing Version 3.0.
It is said that the new data exchange format in Version 3.0 represents an improvement in the ‘spine of the TecAlliance infrastructure’. The data quality is improved further, and new content can be delivered to the market faster. This involves a uniform structuring principle for all current and future reference data and product information, which at the same time offers space for more data content.
The benefits at a glance:
… Increased variety of vehicle information
In addition to cars and commercial vehicles, an increasing variety of vehicle classes (e.g. electric vehicles, tractors and buses) is also available.
… Higher-quality vehicle information
The vehicle information is 100% uniform, reliable and targeted. It is easy to expand vehicle attributes without making interface-related changes.
… ONE concept for vehicles, vehicle components and other linkage targets
One single interface is sufficient for all types of vehicles, vehicle components and other linkage targets. Technical adjustments no longer need to be made when additional data content is made available (e.g. for electromobility).
… A standard for logistics information: transport, stocking, packaging
A loophole has been plugged, which now makes it possible for the aftermarket community to use the standard TecAlliance interface to exchange information about logistics processes.
… A flexible standard for multimedia product information
All types of videos, images and other multimedia information can be exchanged using the same structure; this is based on data content instead of on file format. All media can be sent using a single interface.
… Many other functions that increase the flexibility of data exchange.
