More than 200 participants from 95 companies accepted the invitation from Caruso, the neutral, open and secure mobility data and service marketplace, to come to Cologne, Germany, on 7 June 2018. Caruso Partner Connect, the connected mobility event, impressed participants with interesting user reports and use cases, input on digital innovations and ample opportunities for networking with current and potential Caruso partners. The three companies Mobivia, WM SE and LKQ, all involved in the automotive aftermarket, were welcomed as new shareholders.
Mobivia is internationally active in the vehicle workshop business and new mobility solutions. WM SE (Wessels+Müller) is a wholesaler for vehicle parts, accessories, tyres and workshop equipment. The LKQ Corporation is a globally operating spare parts manufacturer from the USA. Including its initial shareholder and enabler TecAlliance, Caruso GmbH now has a total of nine shareholders.
In his keynote speech at the Caruso event, Jürgen Mehlis, Executive Vice President of Solution & Platform Management at TecAlliance, gave participants an overview of the extensive and steadily growing portfolio of services offered by TecAlliance on the Caruso data marketplace. Besides Repair and Maintenance Information (RMI), parts and vehicle information from the independent automotive aftermarket (IAM) is now available. In addition, machine-to-machine technology makes it possible to provide additional services: so-called micro services enable data users to identify IAM parts through OE numbers, for example.
Another service is available for insurance companies, fleet and leasing companies and workshops on the data marketplace. The Forecast module provides reliable cost forecasts for maintenance and wear and tear, depending on the type, life and mileage of the vehicle, so that leasing rates and insurance premiums can be calculated.
Caruso was founded in March 2017.The platform is targeted at a range of players in the mobility data and service market, including parts manufacturers, traders, workshops, insurance companies, fleet and leasing companies, car rental and car-sharing companies, mobile phone providers and breakdown services.
By providing a comprehensive infrastructure, which is necessary for the harmonisation, availability and utilisation of data and services, Caruso is successfully promoting the new business models and mobility services of tomorrow.
