Another year is approaching it’s end in the Chinese lunar calendar. We are looking back on many existing moments with our customers and partners, on different events & trade fairs like Automechanika Shanghai in December where we gained a great response to our products and our joint success. With a total of 90 data suppliers on board, we are very satisfied with our development in the Chinese Automotive Aftermarket.

TecAlliance China has been active as an independent company in Shanghai since the beginning of 2013 where we are working to expand into the eastern Asian markets even further. As the car sales in China continuously went down since 2018, more and more part manufacturers turned the focus to Aftermarket business. In order to better support the aftermarket players in China, additional employees have been hired for vehicle data management. A team has been set up to support TecDoc data suppliers in data preparation (formatting according to TecDoc standards, searching for original parts, etc.). The number of employees increased from 34 by end of 2017 to 56 in 2019. More products and solutions have been developed as well, such as Web-catalogue with detailed information to sales version of the cars, WeChat Catalogue, Product Information Management System (CCU), Part Number Finder, and much more.

China is a big enough market with endless possibilities

That is a sentence we have heard a lot by our customers within the recent years. Times are changing and many companies are now also focusing on expanding their business abroad. No matter if they are planning to enter South-East Asia, Russia, Africa, the US or Europe, we’ve got them covered.

It’s all about the Chinese E-Catalog (Web, WeChat, App)

We are proud that the TecDoc Catalogue, offered since July 2014, and known officially as Chinese E-Catalogue, is very successful. The data pool for the Chinese market already includes comprehensive spare parts information from 90 part manufacturers selling 113 brands. The structured, standard web catalog format offered in China and Asia Pacific is based on the TecDoc Standard and contains China-specific vehicle and item information, the TecAlliance China-ID.

We’ve made it possible for traders to search for vehicles using the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) for the Chinese market for 5 years. This makes it easier for TecDoc data suppliers to prioritise their preparation and linking on article information. The Global Vehicle Table integrates all vehicles worldwide in a common database. It already contains more than 90 percent of the Chinese automobile population.

The TecAlliance WeChat Catalogue was developed specifically for workshops, distributors and car owners in China. It is based on the TecDoc Catalogue database with original data from 113 brands and millions of items of article data for the Chinese carparc. It can be used only for the Chinese market. For parts manufacturers TecAlliance also offers a version of the WeChat Catalogue specially adapted to their interests and requirements. A client-customised standard app can be developed in two to four weeks.
