Twelve high-school graduates are successfully starting to their careers at TecAlliance after completing school under the difficult conditions from the corona virus. Four prospective IT specialists for application development and eight dual students in Digital Business Management, Service Engineering and Applied Computer Science started their training at our Weikersheim, Germany, site on 1 September 2020 as planned.

The shortage of skilled workers has been a major issue in Germany for a long time. We have seen this as an opportunity to train our own IT specialists and dual students for attractive jobs in IT, management and international sales. This has continued to draw highly qualified new employees. For our commitment we have twice won awards as one of the “Best Training Centers in Germany” from the business magazine Capital.

School closures and cancelled career fairs made it hard this year for school leavers to find a suitable training company. Despite the difficult situation, Kerstin Langohr, Group Manager Vocational Training at TecAlliance, is pleased to welcome twelve apprentices and dual students.

“The COVID 19 pandemic is a major challenge for everyone this year. But for us it is and will remain very important to invest in the next generation to hire qualified specialists. These are a key success factor for the future of our company; we are pleased to attract motivated trainees and students to our company again this year,” Kerstin Langohr explains.

Deep training and varied challenges

For the school leavers, their time with us begins with a four-week introductory program during which they not only get to know the company, the products and the employees, but also have fun and build team spirit. The onboarding phase includes an introduction to Scrum for agile software development, the basics of project management and presentation training. It always ends with a group excursion.

Flat hierarchies and agile structures enable new employees to quickly develop new skills and personal responsibility in cross-functional teams. The rotation to different locations in Germany and international work or study assignments offer insights into different jobs and open up development opportunities, also internationally.

Strong partners teach theory

Trainees can acquire a training certificate or specialized additional certifications. The schooling takes place at the Klara Oppenheimer vocational school in Würzburg. TecAlliance graduates have long been rated among the best by the Heilbronn-Franken Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Baden-Württemberg.

The dual study programs have been offered in cooperation with DHBW Mosbach since 2007. Students can complete degrees such as Bachelor of Science (Business Informatics – Applied Computer Science), Bachelor of Engineering (Innovation and Product Management – International Technical Sales Management) or Bachelor of Arts (Online Media – International Business – Business Administration – Digital Business Management). DHBW students take courses at the Bad Mergentheim Campus, the Lörrach Campus or the Mosbach Campus.

Top graduates – now and in the future

“Our aim is to keep trainees and students as skilled workers in our company for the long term. We rely on creative and innovative training methods and give them plenty of opportunities to work independently in an open and friendly atmosphere. And this commitment pays off: Every year our graduates shine with above-average grades. We are proud of our very high hiring rate,” Kerstin Langohr declares.

Application phase for 2021 now under way

In 2021, we again want to help young graduates to successfully start their careers. We offer apprenticeships as IT specialists and digitalization management assistants as well as a whole range of dual study programs.
