In the last weeks, the automotive aftermarket community met at TecDoc Info Days to discuss what is next in the IAM. Around 250 representatives of the parts manufacturers registered for our Info Days that took place all over Europe – in Amsterdam, Birmingham, Cologne, Madrid and Milan. We did live demonstrations of our new PIM solution TecDoc ONE, explained the TecDoc Data Standard and the future changes for more data granularity, shared our approach to data quality and further improvements, and discussed VIO / OE possibilities for a better product & range management.

“We appreciated the opportunity to present our approach to data, demonstrate data solutions and have in-depth discussions with our customers in person again! We are looking forward to meeting you again at the next TecDoc Info Days in 2023.”
Jürgen Mehlis, Executive Vice President Data Manager Products.
TecDoc One – a new era of global data management
We presented our new data management solution DMM Online, which is the first release of our future global PIM TecDoc One. It is the best fit for customers searching for an intuitive online tool to manage and distribute their range in TecDoc Standard.
TecDoc DMM Online is a modern-looking, web-based solution that is globally available. DMM Online has a fully integrated Instant Data Processing (IDP) functionality that enables the parts manufacturers to provide their data in real-time. All data sent via IDP is immediately integrated and published worldwide in the TecDoc Catalogue and in catalogue solutions based on TecDoc data.
The migration of DMM customers to DMM Online has started. Each DMM customer will be contacted by our team to align and coordinate his migration. Since the system is constantly under development, new features like smart services – such as integration of OE and VIO data – and convenient functions for multi-formatting (ACES/PIES/TecDoc/MAM) will be added. Once these key functionalities are available, the global PIM TecDoc ONE will be introduced to all TecDoc Data Suppliers.
The international standard for high-quality data
Our TecDoc Data Standard has been internationally accepted in the automotive aftermarket for more than 25 years. It makes sure that each vehicle type is clearly and unmistakably defined and linked to the associated replacement parts. At the TecDoc Info Days we discussed the TecDoc Data Standard and future steps in format expansion for more data granularity. We presented our approach to achieving the improved vehicle tree – that is by enhancing the TecDoc Standard with additional fields, improved vehicle details and linking attributes that will be made available in the data format.
For success in the automotive aftermarket, reaction times, timeliness and accurate product data are crucial. The importance of online commerce is growing rapidly around the world, and so is the need for high-quality data that enables the workshop to identify the correct replacement part precisely, reliably and in the shortest possible time.
With our large-scale data quality management (DQM) initiative, we are constantly working with our data suppliers and data users to increase customer confidence in online purchasing. Excellent data quality leads to more orders, fewer returns and better service. At the Info Days, we presented the implemented changes to improve filtering and selection options. These included attribute standardisation, product differences being visible already on the first catalogue page, optimisation of the search via OE number, easier product comparison and more. The DQM measures were well received, proving that we are on the right track!
We thank our customers for their valuable feedback and extensive discussions. Based on these insights, we continue our journey to enable our customers to position their products for success. We are already looking forward to meeting you again in 2023 – at our Info Days or at one of our other events.
